Author

This book was written with our children as a fun winter project.  The next year, while walking in the pumpkin patch, the children surprised us by searching for "The Bumpy Pumpkin."  Shortly after this, the publishing effort fledged.

The children participated in this project by being a wonderful test audience and by picking the final version of The Bumpy Pumpkin's nose.

It's a great "read aloud" book and is best performed with a little slower cadence, some timing, and a bit of animation.

We trust that you will enjoy a story that is an annual favorite around our house.

Artist

Avis Lyle demonstrated great patience while working on "The Bumpy Pumpkin" as the effort to extract conceptual information from the author was hampered by the author's artistic limits.  To her credit, Avis persevered and brought the story to life.

Her use of colors is striking and her empathy for a childrens perspective is obvious to all.
